The Chief of Staff Association congratulates Jamila Thomas on her recent appointment as the chief of staff to Washington Governor Jay Inslee.

Ms Thomas will begin her new post on November 16th replacing former COS David Postman who had served in the role since 2015. Currently, Ms Thomas serves as chief of staff to Superintendent of Public Instruction Chris Reykdal and previously held the same title with former Speaker of the House Frank Chopp.1 Ms Thomas, who is a lifelong Washingtonian, “brings a deep understanding of state government,” Inslee said in a news release issued Thursday. “She is a strategic thinker with extensive policy experience, the ability to build coalitions and a comprehensive understanding of budget and personnel management.”

Building on her long history of public service, Jamila Thomas looks to have a promising future as Chief of Staff to Governor Inslee, said Dr Aron D’Souza, Secretary of the Chief of Staff Association. The CSA wishes her well in this new role and continued service to the people of Washington.
