The Chief of Staff Association congratulates Jamila Thomas on her recent appointment as Chief of Staff (COS) to Washington Governor Jay Inslee.

Ms Thomas will begin her new post on November 16, replacing former COS David Postman who had served in the role since 2015. Currently, Jamila serves as Chief of Staff to Superintendent of Public Instruction Chris Reykdal and previously held the same title with former Speaker of the House Frank Chopp.1

Jamila is a lifelong Washingtonian and according to Governor Inslee she brings “a deep understanding of state government” and is a “strategic thinker with extensive policy experience, the ability to build coalitions and a comprehensive understanding of budget and personnel management.”2

Dr Aron D’Souza, Secretary of the Chief of Staff Association, is confident Jamila will flourish in the role – “Building on her long history of public service, Jamila Thomas looks to have a promising future as Chief of Staff to Governor Inslee”. The CSA wishes Jamila all the best in the role and congratulates her for her continued service to the people of Washington.
